Why are fire alarm systems and monitoring important for homes, apartments, condos and other residential buildings?
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) reported in 2021 that nearly 26% of fires that occured were in residential spaces, and sadly frequently resulted in injuries and fatalities. Cooking, heating equipment, electrical distribution and lighting equipment, intentional instances, and smoking materials were the leading causes of fires in home structures. Cooking is a common culprit causing 49% of the reported fires.
Warehouse Fire Alarms and Monitoring
The National Fire Protection Association shared a report in 2022 pertaining to warehouse fires. Warehouse structure fires are reported more than 1,400 times annually, and each year cause an average of $283 million dollars worth in direct property damage, and sorrowfully injuries and fatalities. Electrical distribution or lighting equipment, combustible materials and intentionally set blazes were the leading causes of warehouse fires. Fortunately, most warehouses proactively install systems and have processes in place to help confine and contain such incidents.
Schools Fire Alarm Systems and Monitoring
In 2020, a NFPA report was published regarding schools. Between 2014-2018, more than 3,200 fires were reported annually Each year fires result in an estimated $37 million dollars in direct property damage for schools. Unfortunately, there have been injuries and fatalities. By a large percentage, fires that are intentionally set are the leading cause of school fires and often happen during regular school hours.
